Description

We are a very small indie studio based in New Zealand. Gustav Seymore and Vaughan Sanders founded the studio in 2014 with the dream of making small, high quality, independent games. We have nearly 20 years of game industry experience between us. We really like goblins :D

History

Early history

Gustav Seymore is the creative chief and founder of Lost Goblin. In 2007 he joined a small startup games studio in South Africa called Avonstorm, as a game designer. Gustav went on to become Creative Director of Avonstorm and helped run the studio till its close in 2011. After that time Gameloft hired him as the Principal Producer of Creation at their New Zealand studio where he worked until December 2014 having shipped; Wonder Zoo, Littlest Pet Shop, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, Ice Age Adventures and Pastry Paradise. It was there that he met the code goblin, Vaughan Sanders. After working together on Ice Age Adventures, Gustav left Gameloft to join Outsmart Games as Head of Production and Design where he designed and shipped Blood Gate: Age of Alchemy (mobile) as well as Blood Gate (PC). He currently works at Climax Studios in Auckland as Senior Designer and Producer when not doing work for Lost Goblin.

Our Code Goblin is Vaughan Sanders, he has shipped titles for both the console and mobile markets. Vaughan has worked as a gameplay programmer on Rugby Challenge for Sidhe, Silent Ops, Wonder Zoo, Littlest Pet Shop and Ice Age Adventures for Gameloft, an Associate Technical Director for Windows App Developers Marker Metro, Vaughan also had a hiatus from games and went and worked on DJ scratching software for Serato. In April 2015 Vaughan decided to work fulltime on Lost Goblin's endeavors and combined travelling to Austin, Texas and Tokyo, Japan with developing the prototype for their first PC title Goblins of Elderstone. With the transition from prototype to full production Vaughan moved back to Auckland to be with the team.

Now

In the middle of June 2014 their collaboration became official with the formation of Lost Goblin Limited. They released their first game, a small mobile title, MonsterMaze in February of 2015 and then sought out and found funding late 2015 for their current project, Goblins of Elderstone, a goblin tribe simulator for the PC market. This funding allowed them to go full time for a time and add a few talented goblins to the team. In September 2016 Goblins of Elderstone was runner up in the Kiwi Game Starter. They have now come to Kickstarter to bring the project to the finishing line and build a community around the game. They are taking their game to Steam Greenlight soon and will be at PAX Australia in the pavilion at stand 35 in November.
